今年旧金山六四悼念活动上，我们在街头遇到了Carol——一位手持「不忘六四」乒乓球拍的白发老太太。攀谈才知，她在1989年就在厦门教育学院任教，亲历了那段历史。
Carol是1989年在厦门的美国外教，为学生们教英语。
Carol 此前从未接受过任何媒体的采访，这是一个极为难得的机会：从一位美国外教的视角，了解1989年发生了什么，而且是你从未耳闻的广场之外，遥远的南国厦门的故事。我们（擦星星事务所）刚刚与Carol完成了口述史初期采访录制 ⏺️ ，我们希望将这个项目完整呈现给大家！！

This year, at a June 4th memorial event, we met Carol—an elderly American woman holding a ping-pong paddle bearing the words “Never Forget June Fourth.” As we spoke with her, we learned that she had been teaching at Xiamen Institute of Education in 1989 and witnessed that pivotal period firsthand.
Carol was an American teacher living in Xiamen during the events of 1989.
Before now, Carol had never given an interview to any media outlet. This is an exceptionally rare opportunity to hear the story of 1989 through the eyes of an American educator—not from Beijing’s Tiananmen Square, but from the distant southern city of Xiamen, where history unfolded in its own way.
We at Polishing Stars Studio have just completed the first round of oral history interviews with Carol. 🎙️ Our goal is to preserve her testimony and present this important project in its entirety.
